What you see above is an actual slide from the actual test review day of an actual graduate level course. When I first saw this in class tonight, my immediate reaction was, “Really?” That thought was followed very closely by, “I can’t believe how much I’m paying for this shit,” and “I can’t believe how much time I’m wasting on this shit.”
All that was bad enough. Then I got home to an almost-two year old son who took 10 minutes or more to warm up to me because he sees me so little now and I was really pissed off.
And BTW, if actual grad students need to be shown slides like this then our culture is doomed.
Today’s title is yanked from a throwaway line about a minute and a half into the video, but it more or less sums up my own experience with the public schools.
One of the biggest memes of the manosphere that I find I disagree with is the idea that educating women is somehow a bad thing. In my opinion, the problem isn’t that we’re educating women. The problem is that our education system in general, and at all levels, is crap. Whether you believe as Keoni Galt does (and I’ve come to) that our system was designed to be this way, or you just believe that it’s devolved from some point in time when it was actually good to the worthless cesspool it is today, the fact remains that by just about any standard it’s worthless. Teaching women to be spoiled, entitled, skanky brats is a problem. Teaching them to be logical, articulate, and productive is a good thing.
